Bamboo

There are more than 1,000 bamboo species. This diversity makes it more adaptable to different climatic zones. It can grow in over 70% of earths land area and it is one of the most renewable resources in the world.

The entire plant is never harvested and regrowth occurs naturally and rapidly. It is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and can grow to its full height in 3 months.

Bamboo is abundantly available in many rural areas where economic development is limited, so it can offer social benefit as well . Through research and development of more ways to utilise bamboo, populations in rural areas are afforded an opportunity to maintain their culture and life style while improving their economic situation.

Bamboo based fabric is comfortable, very breathable, highly absorbent, fast drying, and thermal regulating.

Bamboo fabric is naturally antibacterial due to a bio agent that the Japanese have called “Kun” which resists the growth of bacteria on the fibre which cause odours. This therefore reduces the number of washes the fabric requires, saving energy and water and makes the fabric last longer . It doesn’t need fabric softener.

Bamboo fabric is often described as having the ultra softness of cashmere and the lustre of silk!
